Sometimes while sifting through my piles of mail, I start LOL-ing so hard that my morning latte comes spewing out my nose.
Why, you ask? Because of stuff like this:
“OH HAYY GUYZZZZ just chillin on the beach & posing like a sexalicious mermaid! WHO NEEDS TOWELS I LUV SAND!!!”
(I mean, this is totally how I pose while sunbathing at the beach… don’t you?!)
It’s not that there’s anything inherently wrong with bathing suits or half naked women; it’s just that all the stuff out there about what it means to be sexy is… well, it’s so damn silly and off point!
That said, I decided it was time for The Unlost to dip its (perfectly manicured) toes into the depths of the fashion & beauty arena.
Because I know it’s hard to believe, but being sexy isn’t about contorting yourself into weird, mermaid-like positions whilst posing on the beach, nor is being fashionable about conforming to the weirdo standards of the mainstream media.
Today, sexy fall fashion tips that don’t require you to be anyone but yourself.
1. Pair a cute sweater with some CONFIDENCE!

The days of sitting on a barstool and desperately looking around for douchey validation are over.
Get this, ladies: it’s not your clothes or your makeup (or even your body) that make you look hottest. It’s… dum-de-dum… confidence in who you are.
That’s right.
Because you know who’s beautiful & valuable & worthy?
YOU.
You know why?
Just because. Just because you’re a living, breathing, miracle-of-a-human being.
That’s right– simply because you exist.
It’s true! And if anyone ever tells you otherwise, let me know. I’ll be sure to personally kick him or her in the face (HA kidding!).
Confidence, worthiness, value: they aren’t things you have to go out shopping for; they’re things you already have.

2. Wow him with your SUSTAINABLE STYLE
So, check it: my Internet-friends Kristin and Shannon have started this awesome new sustainable fashion line, and their first item, the Versalette, can be worn, like, 1,000 different ways– as a skirt, dress, hood, scarf, purse, poncho & more (SRSLY!). Plus it’s totally good for the planet, totally cute, and made in the USA from recycled materials.
I was gonna post a picture of myself wearing my beautiful navy blue Versalette, but I wrote this post at the last minute & it was getting dark & I had one too many glasses of wine &… anywho, just watch this video instead. It’s freaking awesome.

3. Show off your INNER LAYERS
“The most beautiful thing you can wear is a SMILE!!!!”
I know it’s corny and cliche, but it’s true, guys.
Kindness, joy, open-heartedness, authenticity– that’s what makes you beautiful. It comes from the inside out. If you don’t believe me, just ask Roahld Dahl (you know, that guy who wrote all those books you used to read in fourth grade, like Matilda and James and The Giant Peach). Dude knows what’s up.

Also if you don’t believe me, just think about the most beautiful person you know. Now ask yourself what it really is that makes him or her so beautiful.
