THE DECLARATION OF REAL (& the CRUSHING of the World of Fake)

_________

We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all women-men-people are created equal & that they are endowed by their Creator with an ability to CRUSH THE F### out of FAKE-ASS SH!T!

_________

Fake shit, fake shit, fake shit.

Fake.

Fake.

FAKE!!

Fake perfection.

Fake intention.

Fake holding-it-all-together

While falling apart inside.

. . .

Fake that’s in your laughter.

Fake that’s in your soul.

Fake filling the void with more fake

Fake coming up for more.

And more…

A n  d   m    o     r      e       .        .        .

. . .

Fake smiles, fake friends, fake money.

Fake breasts, fake hair, fake nails.

Fake love, fake hugs, fake ugly,

Fake anyone who cares.

. . .

. . .

Why, guys?

And how?

And when did this become normal??

Because call me FREAKING CRAZY, guys, but last time I checked, this wasn’t effing normal.

Call me REAL INSANE, but last time I checked,

Here’s what was normal:

. . .

IMPERFECTION

Samyra Serin

Last time I checked, imperfection was normal.

Last time I checked, none of us could keep it all together all of the time (& none of us had to).

Last time I checked,  guys, we were human– not mutants, not gods, just human.

Last time I checked, we were Imperfect Perfection defined.

. . .

STRUGGLE

Noukka Signe

Last time I checked, we were all struggling through shit.

Not just one of us– not just you, not just me– all of us.

Every. Single. One.

Last time I checked, this was normal.

CONNECTION

Last time I checked, it was normal to trust.

Last time I checked, it was human nature— to help and to be helped, to love and to be loved.

Last time I checked, it was as simple as this: “I need. I ask. I am held.”

Last time I checked, it was really that simple.

Love and truth and trust, I give thee “The Stamp of Normal.”

Dear Reader, I give you today “The Stamp of NORMAL.”

Stamp it in your heart and in your soul and

Nice! This reminds me of a quote that I read a long time ago in Nicholas Spark’s Dear John (which I read four years before the movie…):

“My dad always said that when you’re struggling with something, look at all the people around you and realize that every single person you see is struggling with something, and to them, it’s just as hard as what you’re going through.”

Thanks for the Monday morning inspiration.

Yep– “Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some sort of a battle.”

You can feel your passion coming through this post. This is so well timed. I did meditation last night and it left me so calm because all it does is connect you to the real. So this morning I wrote “Let go’ in pen on my hand so I can stop focusing on the bullshit and start embracing what’s real, whether good or bad…because at the end of the day, the real is all we’ve got. Thanks for the post Therese :)

“At the end of the day, the real is all we’ve got.”

      Yes, yes it is :)

This is so AWESOME!!!! I spent so much of my life trying to look and be perfect. I continue to struggle with all the “not good enough” programming that most of us were raised with. It seems that when I started writing about all the shit in my life and how I’ve dealt with it, others with similar issues have come out of the woodwork to connect. It’s one of my main missions to help as many people as I can to understand that they’re not alone and that there are ways to a better, happier life. You rock, Therese!

    • http://www.theunlost.com Therese

      Paige!

The ‘not good enough” is somehow built into our culture… and you’re right, the more you let your own “real” out and share your own struggles, I think that others are set free to do the same. Keep at it!

What a brilliant and creative post.

Therese, can we The Stamp of Normal to our innate, normal falibility as well?

I like to celebrate my falibility at least once a day. :-)

    • http://www.theunlost.com Therese

Yep… to be human is to be fallible, right?

  • Sylvia Schade

I love you. Thanks for keeping it real.

    • http://www.theunlost.com Therese

      Love YOU, girl! xoxo

This blog is awesome and YOU are awesome. Brings a smile to my face. Brilliant freestyle.

I share in the mission to get beneath the mask and be the anti-fake:
    http://downfromtheledge.blogspot.com/

MISSION: Busting open the taboo surrounding suicide. Silence kills. “If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”

In short: being fake is killing us all.

COULDN’T AGREE MORE! Everyone read “Down From the Ledge’s” blog; it’s as real as it gets.

  • Matthew James

“Il ya une seule vie par conséquent, elle est parfaite” – Eluard. This piece reminded me of this quote – which I’ve always found re-assuringly logical and beautiful

    • http://www.theunlost.com Therese

It does sound beautiful, except I don’t speak French!!

      :-/

      • Matthew James

Ha, sorry. I had to use google translate myself – my French is rusty to say the least! Translates as “There is only one life; therefore she is perfect”. Always turn to this quote when I’m down. It makes me think that whatever I’m doing and experiencing it is as good as it can be and so I should appreciate and enjoy that rather than beat myself up
